Bigsurf recommends joining the IKSA  

The IKSA is Ireland’s national association for all kitesurfers. It is run by kitesurfers, for kitesurfers.

The IKSA is a focal point for kitesurfing in Ireland. It coordinates events, social outings, advertises local spots to kitesurf at, shares information, and has the best interests of you, the kitesurfer in mind.

Crucially the IKSA provides you with insurance cover, but only when you are joined as a member. The membership fee is small, only €45 at the time of publication of this post. If something goes wrong on the water, the IKSA is your first point of contact for support.
