After a few months of hard work and creativity,

Bigsurf was ready to reveal the new look…

We were stoked with the reaction!

Jason Coniry, formally of Incide Surf Shop in Cork, was the brains behind the refurb and here he tells us how it came about...

"A few months ago Pearse At Bigsurf and I were hanging out looking at some ripcurl wetsuits. We've known each other for a long time and our families have done so even longer. Pearse's uncle Malcolm Goggin and I having mis-spent most of our youth together racing bikes and getting into trouble as you do...all good clean fun. Long story short, Pearse and I both love all genres of watersport and so I was easily convinced to join up the bigsurf team when the idea sprung. Pearse even made up a cool title for me, haha, 'creative director' a task which involves cleaning, tidying, a lot of buying surf products and well some times taking pics and creating. Its been a super fun project to work on with a super nice bunch of people.

First mission was to turn the unused first floor into a shop space that people could come and see what we sell on-line in a relaxed environment along with just being a place to feel at home for watersports people of all sorts. Next mission for me is to bring the surf offer up to speed with what Pearse has achieved with windsurfing and sup. Its not every-day you land a job, 2 mins down the road and half way between your two favourite beaches in west cork, so I guess I'm feeling pretty stoked! Hope I can serve the cork and Irish surf community in the same way as when at tubes and incide.

I’m still servicing ripcurl as before and Bigsurf has filled the gap in the southern Ireland market since the huge void that tubes and incide left behind. So that's it... We are really happy with the new look and feel to the warehouse, shop and office at bigsurf. The sample sale on Friday night last, went down a treat for lots of happy shoppers, and for the crew of young groms who were all loving the vibe, and are stoked to have a place to hang out and swop stories. It was a real pleasure to host such a cool group of people, and to offer crazy prices on the ripcurl summer 15 and winter 15/16 samples.”
