Atan’s 6mm neoprene with external rubber coat on this hot Mistral show ensures your feet are “toasty” warm, but they also give you the sensation of being barefoot, in turn much improving feedback from your equipment.
NOTE: Pictures shown are of the Mistral…the only difference is the HOT Mistral’s are 6mm…they look absolutely the same as the Mistral’s (or in other words, our photographer was too lazy to photograph the HOT Mistrals!)
CONSTRUCTION
Atan’s are titanium neoprene, glued and sewn with a fine latex sole.
A 20mm wide velcro strap seals the top of this Atan Hot Mistral boot.
Inside, the curls are glued onto the foam with titanium based neoprene glue, which in turn reflects heat back in towards the foot.
OUR OPINION
We do recommend barefoot watersports, as it does give you more feel and control over your equipment, but if you like to have warm toes, and keep your toes protected against sun, cold, wind, impact, scratches, sea life, beach debries, etc., etc., then this is the best option. They very, very slightly stretch after 4-5 uses, so select your size to be a fit snug when ordering. Round toe keeps all toes together to keep them all warm, while split toe offer more grip. Some folks simply prefer the split toe feel. At first these boots may seem sloppy inside…this will disappear when they “break in”.
Super tip! …a must is to turn your Hot Mistral boots inside out after each session, flush with cold water, and then hang to dry in the fresh air…if you don’t, they’ll pong, whether you have smelly feet or not! See the picture for how flexible these boots really are.
