The Disco excels in smaller weaker surf but holds and performs in bigger and better waves, as proven by Beach Beat team rider Marcus Lascelles at big barreling West Oz and Lakey Peak. The Disco shortboard is designed for modern performance surfing. Shaped with a low nose rocker and wider nose outline this model is easy to paddle and super fast straight from take off. The bottom is shaped with a single to double concave and slight vee running off the tail for improved rail to rail transition and also a little lift in the tail rocker for great response. Should be shaped 3-4″ shorter than a standard shortboard. Great in all waves, even bigger and better surf, it’s not just a sick groveller.”

Beach Beats History… Beach beat surfboards was founded in the mid 80’s in Cornwall by a young Australian surf star and world wanderer, Peter ‘chops’ Lascelles. After arriving in St Agnes, Cornwall in the early 80’s, Chops made Cornwall and St Agnes his home from then on. By employing a couple of local Aggie rippers and boat builders to look after the glassing and sanding, and with Chops as the head shaper, the Beachbeat surfboard factory and brand was born, quickly becoming one of the most iconic brands in the European surfing world. With international surf stars and board shaper friends visiting Chops regularly and taking over the bars and breaks of St Agnes, the surf and surfboard scene there was truly buzzing.
Beach Beat now have a team of UK and international board designers and shapers headed up by Marcus Lascelles, youngest son of the late, great Peter ‘Chops’ Lascelles. Working closely with riders and local surfers, they test our their boards extensively in the water before releasing to the public.
