The Lava blade was designed to be a little more forgiving & suit a less aggressive & lower cadence paddle stroke.  Throughout the design process all unnecessary weight was removed.  It corrects poor alignment often associated with poor technique, fatigue and injury.  The scooped dihedral shaping also holds the water securely through the power phase of the stroke.

The shaft is non-twist, so the handle will always be square with the blade.  This means there is no need for you to monitor your blade position visually when paddling.
