Marlow Formuline 3.8mm Rope – for downhaul, outhaul and booms

This Marlow Formuline rope is the "best of the best" when it comes to windsurfing ropes. This is 12 strand, tightly braided Dyneema, SK75 rope from Marlow.

BIGSURF OPINION

Marlow Formuline rope is fantastic for your downhauls and outhauls. To give you an idea of how good this really is, our team riders 9.2m race sail would go through a length of ordinary downhaul rope every time it was rigged, such was the huge downhaul force involved!  Marlow Formuline rope has upto 3 times the breaking strength of ordinary rope.  The same piece of formuline lasted our team rider over 30 times with little or no wear to report!

It also drastically reduces the effort required to downhaul a sail. An average windsurfer could downhaul a medium sized wave sail by hand using formuline rope! (although we still recommend using a downhauler to protect your hands!)

Lengths of cut

We recommend...

• 1m lengths for outhauls

• 2m lengths for downhauls and

• 3m lengths for adjustable outhauls.

If you require 1 no. 10m length for example, please select "One continuous length (m)" and increase the quantity to the required length that you need.  We will then cut that length off the roll for you.

If you do manage to wear the downhaul (after a lot of use!) you can cut that bit off and the remainder of the rope will still last you a very long time!

We cut the lengths of rope PROFESSIONALLY for you with a hot knife, so no ravelling at the ends.  We cut them so they are ready for use...you will not need to be fiddling with lighters, matches and flames to try and shape the ends...we do that for you.  Please note we cut to within 1-3cm...not precisely to the 1mm!
