For a beginner, this is ideal as your first board…it it stable, floaty, easy to keep upwind, and is easy to learn to plane with. It gives you the confidence to push your ability, while having fun.
As you progress to intermediate level, this board offers fast planing speeds, and is a good platform to learn planing gybes on. It’ll take big sails too, so as you learn to plane in lighter winds this is a great board to give you float to take the bigger rigs, and to let you perfect pumping skills in lighter winds.

This RRD Firemove 155 E-Tech is a fantastic beginner to intermediate level windsurfing board. For a beginner it is stable and reassuring, giving you confidence. For intermediates, it’ll take you from fast planing, to planing gybes, and on to foiling in light winds.
This RRD Firemove 155 E-Tech is the number one choice of board for fast progressing beginners who are looking for their first board. We have many customers who love this shape, in this size, and in this construction. It has let them progress their windsurfing extremely quickly, and key to this is they are having fun. It really is windsurfing made easy.
For intermediate riders this board planes up really early, it is comfortable when you have your feet in the footstraps, and it has a very respectable top speed. Crank it into a gybe and the more you commit to the turn, the faster you will come out of the turn. It’s a great board to carry bigger rigs…up to 9.0m sails is entirely possible.
When it comes to foiling, the 155 litres of volume and the width give you a super stable platform to balance on when stopped. Hard landings are inevitable when learning to foil, but this shape really makes that experience more comfortable. And when you become experienced with foiling, the extra width will let you push against your foils lift to drive you upwind. We can supply the ideal foil for this board...we recommend something like THIS RRD FOIL.
Board comes with an MFC freeride fin, and a set of comfy RRD/Dakine footstraps as pictured. If you can collect from Bigsurf we will install these in the optimum position for you.
